Hello!  My name is, Rose Helderman, and I am the owner, administrator, and educator of "The Kids Place" Home Daycare and Preschool.  Finding a great place to care for your child(ren) is one of the toughest challenges parents often face.  I know as a parent of 5 children and once being in the position to find child care for my eldest while I had to work.  I have put together this website with that in mind and offering as much information as possible for you to learn as much about my program as I can share.  I wish you the best on your journey to find the right fit for your child and thank you for your consideration in my program.

                                                   Sincerely,

                                                   Rose Helderman

"The Kids Place" Home Daycare and Preschool is a licensed, quality, home-based, family child care that offers an academic and play-based curriculum to the children it cares for.  Our curriculum prepares children using preschool and pre-k instruction using Ohio's Early Learning Standards.  "The Kids Place" is located in Strongsville, Ohio.  We would love to set-up a time for you to tour our program and find out what it is all about.

My Philosophy...

As a family daycare provider, my goal is to care for your child/children lovingly, with compassion and to provide a happy and safe environment where children can grow and learn.  I will help your child become the best that they can be by placing high, yet obtainable, expectations on them and the belief that they can succeed in friendships, learning, and behavior.  I believe children learn through play and benefit from a structured, yet flexible schedule.  Children will be taught to respect each other, adults, and property.

Since I am a family daycare provider, my child care can offer the comforts of home as well as the structure of a school, or large center.  It is my goal to make your child feel comfortable, secure, and at “home”.  I pride myself on giving each child the attention they deserve, the love and encouragement they need, and striving to help each child become “the best they can be”.

My Introduction...

I appreciate your interest in choosing "The Kids Place" Home Daycare and Preschool for your child.  I have many years of experience working with children:

  • babysitting regularly as an early teen

  • teaching swimming lessons from age 15 -22 years

  • teaching 5-th grade for 4 years

  • taking care of my own 5 children

  • owner/educator of "The Kids Place" Home Daycare and Preschool since 1990

While teaching and as we started our own family I had a strong desire to stay home and raise our children. I decided to take a leave of teaching and stay at home with our first child.  While I was at home with our first child I began providing care here and there for a few children while we were out of state and enjoyed having them as companions for my child.  Unfortunately, as our family grew and relocating back to the Cleveland area the need for me to work became very important for the success of our family.  I realized that going back into elementary education would not be an option with having 3 children at the time and all of them needing some form of childcare.  I thought long and hard, loved being at home with our children, and thought it would be nice to offer working families a safe, comfortable home environment for their children to learn and grow while their parents had to work.  My childcare grew quickly and I added a preschool program to the care I was providing.  I found my niche... being with children, being able to teach them, and still being home with my own children.

I have been providing care to children in one form or another since 1990 and continue to strive for excellence in my program.  I enjoy what I do and treasure the opportunity to "touch as many hearts” as I can.
